Some Pixelations and Wanderings.

I enjoy working sprites from scratch and shall be posting some sprites in hopes for critiques. I work on the program paint, since I am most familiar with it. I do not use blending or blurring, and I color/line everything pixel by pixel. I acknowledge that this is the hard way to go about things, but I feel I have the most control over the colors this way. Please feel free to suggest ways to go about sprites.

I will also be posting the occasional short story. Pointing out grammar or stylistic issues would be greatly appreciated, as tough love is how we all improve. One does not learn if one is not struggling, after all.

I must also ask for permission if I may double post here, as the spriting and the short stories are completely irrelevant, I do not wish to put them in the same post. I may have one post where I may post a WIP and one post where I put up a short poem or tale. If this is unacceptable I would appreciate being told so either in PM or here in this thread.

This is for a friend who draws aliens for fun. It is supposed to become very colorful. I plan to flatcolor it in a bit, but I worry about muscle structure and shading, as these are supposed to have whipcord muscle, much like greyhounds.

I'm terrified of working any more on this. I do not know how to make the wing lines perfect and how to shade flames. I am determined to make this a chef d'oeuvre, or as close as an amateur can get to such a thing.

You...you used to play Dragon Cave didn't you! Or maybe you still play now?

I still play dragon cave, yes. It is how I originally learned to sprite. I have never presented a sprite formally to anyone, merely did things privately.

Oh wow. Those pixels look really good. And yes, you can double post if you want for the art thread. If it's your work, you can double post for the first page preferribly but I guess it's too late for that. If you still want to, I could fix it for you after.

Well, they just seem awkward in shading.

The color doesnt look as nice and as detailed compared to the hind legs, can't really think of anything else.

Well you see the hind legs are a little more to the sides, so the tail's shadow does not cover the hind legs completely. The front legs, however, are in the shadow of the head, and are placed closer together underneath the body, making them much darker.
